How we calculate this
Average UK courier emissions are taken as 0.25 kg CO₂e per parcel-mile, covering dedicated last-mile vans, depot sortation and empty return legs.
A Wayspost driver is already making the trip, so we count only the marginal cost of extra load and a short detour: 0.04 kg CO₂e per parcel-mile (~15% of the courier figure).
Parcel-size multipliers: Small ×0.7, Medium ×1.0, Large ×1.5, Bulky ×2.2. Tree equivalence uses 21 kg CO₂ absorbed per mature tree per year (EPA). Car-mile equivalence uses 0.17 kg CO₂e/mile (UK average petrol car).

Who can become a Wayspost driver?+
Anyone with a valid UK driving licence, a roadworthy vehicle with current MOT and insurance. We run the DBS check for you — uploading one is optional. Approval typically takes 48 hours.
Are my belongings insured?+
Yes. Every Wayspost delivery is covered by Goods-in-Transit insurance up to £10,000 from the moment a driver collects until you sign for it.
How is the fee calculated?+
Fees are based on distance, item size, handling difficulty and how urgently you need it delivered. You see the full price up front — no hidden charges.
What can't I send?+
No hazardous goods, live animals, illegal items, or anything regulated by Royal Mail's prohibited list. See our item guidelines for the full list.
