Driver agreement
Last updated: 4 June 2026
This Agreement is between Wayspost Ltd and you, the independent driver. It applies once your application is approved.
1. Independent contractor
You are an independent contractor, not an employee or worker of Wayspost. You're responsible for your own tax, National Insurance and any self-employment registration with HMRC.
2. Vehicle & insurance
You must maintain a roadworthy vehicle with current MOT and at minimum third-party insurance with cover for the carriage of goods for hire-and-reward (or rely on Wayspost's per-trip GIT cover where applicable).
3. Standards
- Arrive within the agreed window or notify the customer immediately.
- Handle items with care; capture in-app pickup and delivery photos with GPS and timestamps enabled.
- For any booking with Standard or Premium cargo cover, generate and record the tamper-evident seal code at pickup and have the recipient verify it at delivery. Failure to do so voids the cover and may result in the loss being charged back to you.
- Maintain a minimum 4.3-star rolling average; below that, your account may be paused for retraining.
4. Earnings
You receive 70% of the customer fee. Wayspost retains 30% as a platform fee. Payouts are held for up to 48 hours after the delivery is marked complete and are released sooner if the customer confirms receipt. While any dispute is open, the payout for that job is paused until the dispute is resolved by Wayspost.
5. Conduct
Discrimination, harassment, or any unlawful activity will result in immediate termination. You must comply with the Highway Code at all times.
6. Theft, loss & liability
- You are personally and financially liable for any item that goes missing, is damaged through negligence, or is not delivered to the recipient on file.
- Collusion with senders or recipients to stage a false claim is a serious breach: it will result in immediate termination, forfeiture of pending payouts, civil recovery for any sums paid out, and referral to the police and Action Fraud.
- Theft of goods will be reported to the police and to Action Fraud. Wayspost will fully co-operate with any investigation.
- You authorise Wayspost to share your account information, GPS history, identity documents, and delivery records with law enforcement and insurers when lawfully requested or where Wayspost reasonably suspects fraud or theft.
- Wayspost may freeze pending payouts, suspend your account, and offset any owed amounts against future payouts while a theft, fraud, or chargeback investigation is in progress.
- You agree to repay Wayspost the full retail value of any item proven on the balance of probabilities to have been stolen, lost, or fraudulently mis-delivered by you.
7. GPS & evidence
While the Wayspost driver app is open during a booking, your device location is collected and stored as evidence of route, pickup, and delivery. This data may be retained for up to 6 years and disclosed to customers, insurers, and law enforcement as needed to investigate disputes or alleged offences.
8. Termination
Either party may end this Agreement at any time on 7 days' notice. Wayspost may terminate immediately for breach.
9. Governing law
England and Wales.
