How to send a large parcel in the UK

Big boxes break standard courier networks. A different approach saves money and gets your item there in one piece.

Most couriers max out at 30 kg or 120 cm

Evri, DPD and Royal Mail all have girth limits. Once your parcel is over those, you pay 'pallet' or 'large item' fees — typically £40–£120, with conveyor-belt handling that's rough on fragile items.

Dedicated-driver pricing for large items

A Wayspost driver going your route quotes from £15.40 for items 20–70 kg and from £29.40 for genuine van loads (sofas, mattresses, wardrobes). One pair of hands, one vehicle, no depot.

Pack it for a single careful trip

Disassemble where possible. Wrap in moving blankets and shrink-wrap. Label any 'this way up' faces clearly. A dedicated driver will photograph the load before pickup and after delivery.
