How to pack a kitchen for moving
The kitchen is the slowest room to pack and unpack. Here is how to speed it up.
Glassware and china
Wrap individually in newsprint or bubble wrap. Pack glasses upright in a dish/cell box. Plates on edge, not flat — they survive better.
Appliances
Defrost the fridge 24 hours before move. Drain washing machine. Pack kettle, toaster, microwave in original boxes if you have them.
Food
Donate non-perishables 2 weeks out. Run down the freezer the week before. Move only what fits in a cool box.
