How to send a parcel internationally from the UK

Sending abroad means customs forms. Here is how to do it right and what it actually costs in 2026.

Customs basics post-Brexit

Every parcel leaving the UK (except to NI via the green lane) needs a CN22 or CN23 customs form. Couriers generate these from your booking — you just print and attach.

EU vs rest of world

EU: 2–5 day delivery on most services. Recipient pays VAT on goods worth €150+. Cheapest options around £8–£15 for 2 kg.

USA/Canada: 5–10 days economy, 2–3 days express. Duty thresholds: $800 USA, $20 Canada.

Cheapest international

Evri International, Parcelmonkey and Interparcel aggregate FedEx, DHL and UPS at 30–50% off counter rates.
